When a marriage breaks down it is essential to plan for the future. Once your immediate needs, such as where you and your children are to live are addressed, you then need to consider the folllowing: 

• Should you apply for a divorce
• Do you require spousal maintenance or child support to meet your financial needs
• What orders need to be put in place in relation to when you see the children
•  How should your property be divided

As this is an extremely emotional period you will need to retain a lawyer who can advise you of your rights and make sure you meet your responsibilities
