De Facto Relationship and Same Sex Relationship
Since 1 March 2009 people who live in de facto or same sex relationships have enjoyed the same rights as married people. Following the break down of a de facto or same sex relationship applications can be made to the Family Law Courts in relation to the following:

If you separated before 1 March 2009 you may be able to opt in to the Family Law Courts provisions above or you may be covered by the NSW legislation.
